One reason for such strict policies is that these establishments provide alcoholic drinks to its patrons.

It is illegal to serve alcoholic drinks to underage teens. The law enforces strict penalties to establishments who violate this rule. Some teenagers however, find ways to enter night clubs and disco bars by faking their identification cards. They're able to enter and drink alcohol freely just like any regular customer would do. There's danger in this practice. Based on a study, the younger a person starts to drink alcoholic drinks, the higher the chances to develop alcohol dependency. One study reported that 53% of underage college students were able to drink alcoholic beverages in an off campus bar. If a person starts drinking alcohol at an early age, he's more susceptible to enter alcohol treatment centers for treatment in the future because of addiction.

Allowing minors to enter clubs and bars has been considered as a regulator's nightmare according to one survey. Servers have to do multiple checks starting at the entrance to check identifications and then move on to tracking down who actually drinks the beverages. The law has enforced many measures to prevent young teenagers in drinking alcohol illegally. These include raising the legal age of drinking to 21, raising taxes in alcoholic beverages and regular monitoring of alcohol shops to make sure that no minor can access these alcoholic drinks.

The law has imposed a legal age for drinking alcohol but still the problem of underage alcohol drinking is rampant. This is because many teenagers get alcoholic drinks from their own homes. Parents are also the cause of why their children develop a habit of alcohol drinking. It's been reported in many alcohol treatment centers that parents have a great influence in the alcohol addiction of their children.
