Newsletters have always been used to keep people updated on the latest events and happenings within a particular business or community. But, it does not have to be limited to this. In fact, newsletters are a unique and creative way to keep your family members and relatives updated wherever they may be.

Keep yourself updated

In order to make your newsletters worth reading, make sure you are the first to know what is going on in your family. Just like in any newsletter, it would do no good to inform your family of something that they all know about. One way to do this is to let all your family members and relatives know that you are planning to make a newsletter for the family.

Know how often you want to send this

Newsletters are sent quarterly, monthly or weekly. The frequency on how often you would create the newsletter would depend how much activities your family would have in a year.

Think of a catchy title

Be creative with the title of your newsletter. Make sure that it is both personal and professional looking at the same time. Make sure that it is also not too long. Newsletter titles should only be made of three or four words. It should also be able to fit in just one line. Some titles like the Jones Chronicle would work best.

Share some inputs

Aside from keeping your family informed about the latest happening with each other, try to also include some useful knowledge that would benefit them. For example, if you have heard in the news about some events happening in other parts of the world, you can include this to inform your relatives who are planning for a trip abroad. Another would be to include suggestions like where are the best places to go for a honeymoon to supplement the announcement of an engagement in the family. Pay attention to the layout

Even though you would be sending your newsletter to your family and relatives, make sure that the layout is carefully designed to make the newsletter easy to read. Most document software programs contain templates that would help you design the layout of the newsletter. You can also download these templates over the Internet. Some websites would actually allow you to create these newsletters and print them if you are planning to send them via regular mail.
