Keep Your Memory Around Your Neck

These days, it's hard to think of anything more valuable than all the information you have on your computer

. Every day, someone's computer crashes and they are left picking up the pieces. But if you keep all of your documents on a USB stick, you can easily carry it around with you on beaded lanyards. Of course there are many different items that you can keep safe by attaching them to your lanyards, but USB sticks are becoming increasingly popular. Although it isn't a wonderful fashion statement, it is an especially common occurrence in the high tech fields. For those who have their entire lives on their computers, it makes perfect sense.

Of course, USB sticks aren't the only thing that you can carry around with you on your beaded lanyards. Anything that you hold dear and do not wish to lose, as long as it isn't too heavy, can be held on them. Many people, especially senior citizens, choose to have their bus passes around their neck. This makes it easy to climb on to the bus and show the driver the bus pass without having to burrow through a purse or wallet. And it also makes it less likely it will get lost.. Although there are many advantages to the lanyard, the most common reason for people to use lanyards is quick access to something that is used often.

So there are literally hundreds of personal uses for lanyards, but there are also many professional uses. If you work in a hospital setting, a prison or a high tech company, you often have to wear an ID badge. Some can be pinned to the shirt, but many people prefer having them hanging around their neck. And since an ID badge isn't always the most attractive thing in the world, many people now shop for fashionable lanyards in order to show their unique style at the workplace.

Since ID cards are typically quite important, especially in a prison environment, you need to always know where it is. Some cards are able to unlock doors, so you certainly do not want them getting into the wrong hands. And if it is simply pinned to your shirt, you might not even notice if it falls off. But if it is around your neck, then you will certainly notice if someone tries to take it from you. In some situations of high security, such as the forensic unit in a psychiatric hospital or a prison, the lanyards are designed to break apart if they are pulled on. This is a security measure to ensure that no one can strangle the person with their own lanyard. But if you don't work in a high security setting, this is probably not necessary.

There are countless uses for beaded lanyards and the choice is yours. You can have unique style with something simple or if you really want to go all out, you can have bling, glitz and glitter with a different lanyard for every day of the week.
