Keeping Cars And People Out Of The Sun

We love the sun, we love the warmth, growing power

, uplifting feeling we received through its rays. Nothing brings feelings of sadness faster than a series of bleary, bleak overcast days and nothing brings rejuvenation faster than a blue sky and warm day. We love the sun, we understand S.A.D.S people who suffer from seasonal depression due to the lack thereof. Our son lived in Sweden for two years. It is dark 20 hours a day at the peak of winter. The sun starts to rise about 11:00 in the morning and by 2:00 it was setting. This is very hard for the people who live that close to the equator. A healthy dose of sun, even if it is cold outside does wonders for mental well being.

On the other hand in the height of summer it is light 20 hours a day in Sweden and the entire mood of the country is lifted and energized. People sleep less and yet feel alive and happy. The light of the sun has been worshiped and revered since early man. It has also struck terror in the hearts of early man who didn't understand it's power. If we could harness the power of the sun, that would be renewable, clean energy on a level never before imagined.

Like all enormous power it has to be handled with care. Those of us over 40 understand what the power of the sun can do to our faces with lines and wrinkles, those who are younger beware, all the potions and procedures can't reverse the effects of the sun on the body over a life time. We love the sun and at the same time understand the damage it can render on our skin and bodies. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop a lot of us from putting on a little sunscreen and hitting the lakes and beaches anyway. My mother always told me the day would come when I wish I hadn't laid out so much as a teen, and as always, she was right.

Like the harmful effects of the sun on our bodies, likewise are the suns bright rays harmful to your automobiles. The heat of the sun is extremely damaging to hard materials like the plastic used on dashboards. We don't have a garage to park our cars in. We remodeled our garage into a den years ago, but we did just recently install a carport and what a great advancement that has been. No more sticking to the seat of the car in summer or shoveling snow in the winter.

The beautiful, yet harmful rays of the sun do oxidize the exterior of the car and age them much faster than those who own carports or garages. These are fairly substantial investments and should be given the best of care to insure their longevity and performance. I guess they should make sunscreen for cars. The easiest way to protect both ourselves and vehicles is to keep out of the ever inviting rays of the sun.
