Keeping The Office, Home And Construction Site Clean

It has been said that "cleanliness is next to Godliness." If that is true heaven must be a very organized, pleasant, orderly place

. Not so true of many homes, offices and construction projects. I find that it is very hard to complete tasks when when there is chaos and lack of order in the home or office. My mom's mantra growing up was, "don't wake up tomorrow to todays mess." She took that to heart and never in my growing up years did we put off dishes, or general straightening until the next day. Before we went to bed, we always made sure that simple pick up was done. I have appreciated that in my life. It allows us to wake up to a new day with a clean slate and a little orderliness instead of mess and clutter of the prior day.

My office is cleaned on the weekends with very little maintenance done during the week, like garbages and recycle bins emptied. We don't have a commercial janitorial service, we have the children of the owners. While they do a pretty good job, it is not uncommon to come into work on Monday and not have the office cleaned due to a vacation or other interference with their weekend cleaning. I often wish we used one of the Connecticut cleaning services offered locally come and in and do the job right. Cleanliness and orderliness bleed over into the feel and atmosphere of the office, helping employees take pride in their cubical and their work.

My husband works doing management for construction sites. You don't normally think of construction sites as being orderly or tidy, but then again, you don't know my husband. Every site he works on construction clean up is paramount to a job well done. He believes the jobs offer more pride, professionalism and punctuality if done in a orderly and organized way. Tools are cared for and the sites are cleaned daily of debris, scraps, waste and projects come in one time and well done. He gets ribbed a little by employees but after awhile they learn to appreciate the more orderly working conditions.

Cleanliness doesn't have to be taken to extreme, there needs to be moderation in all things. But a little organization and orderliness does help all of us feel better, work better and relax better and avoid the feeling of chaos and being out-of-control. A orderly home and office is pleasant and welcoming.
