Keeping Your Computer Organized Makes It Easier To Use

For those that were never trained at school or on the job to use a home computer

, it can be thrilling when you finally get the hang of it and can actually maneuver your way around it. It can be very confusing when you first get started using a computer and if you are smart, the best idea is to try to take some classes of some kind or at the very least, set up some training lessons with a friend or family member that already knows how to use one well. Learning all of the ins and outs of computer use can be overwhelming and what could take you months or years to learn on your own, could be shortened to weeks if you have help.

Once you have learned to navigate your desk top and have learned where to go to do what, this is when you can start using document folders to really help you organize things like your monthly bills, receipts, photographs, music, addresses and a ton of other things. You can keep track of so many things you enjoy and before you know it your computer will be loaded sown with all sorts of things.

Learning to use file folders is great to keep all of your things organized. Just look at your computer as a huge storage cabinets with drawers. When you know what you have in a certain drawer, you can go find it when you need it. Some document folders might already be labeled for you on your computer such as music and pictures. After those, you simply add your own documents and title them whatever you like.

Another thing that is good to keep organized is your desktop. When you have really learned how to make full use of downloading things, you might find that your desktop is very cluttered and it might take you too long to locate a program or file you want to open. When you learn how to use your system tools, you will likely have a desktop clean up that will identify the programs or other things on your desktop that you do not use very frequently. It will clean up the clutter for you if you like, if not you need to do it yourself. If you download emails attachments, they will usually go to your desktop. You can move these into your documents and place then in a specified folder if you like. This is just one example. Your email attachments might go directly to your documents instead of your desktop and even then you might want to place them in a folder to keep your documents clutter free too.

Using a computer can be such an enjoyable thing and very useful as well. If you still feel like you do not know as much about operating your as you would like, then take more classes or just look up what you want to know on line yourself!
