Keeping Your Doors Secure

If someone was to break into your home theyre most likely to come in some door

. That means that they come in your patio door or they go in the sliding door, but theyre probably coming in one of them. Even if you lock your door, that doesnt mean it is that secure. Sometimes the bolt on the lock is so flimsy or loose that anyone could push it open. A simple credit card will push the bolt out of the way and anyone can come into your home. There are a few things that you can do and I thought Id share them with you because you need to be able to keep your home secure.

For a regular door, you should just use a brace. This is something that youre going to want to buy and basically you just jam it directly under the door knob and the floor. If you want the brace to work well, you want to make sure that the base of the brace is pushed as close as possible to the door. The further it is away from the door, the less power youre going to get out of it. This should be enough to protect you from anyone that would pick your lock or something like that.

You can also brace your sliding door. Since the door slides back on a track, all you have to do is put a piece of wood on the track. This way when someone tries to pull the door open the wood is in the way and it will not open.
