Keeping those darned insects off of your windshield

Ah indeed - those have been the days! Your grandfather cruised in to say howdy all the way from Iowa in thattank of a vehicle, complete with the giant splash guards and green bug deflector.Appearing groovywas not a thing with him, just to keep his beast of a car protected fromthem flying critters and road junkwas it. As a young lad, I just couldn't see how that all could match uptogether. If keeping your vehicle looking good, shiny, and new was so essential, WHY would youcrud it all up with deflector things and mud flaps???!!!!

Well, time has marched on sadly, and I'm an old aged guy myself now, and I have discovered that these bug repelling gadgets genuinely have some merit, and fortunately, the individuals that make these items have finally focused on their appearance too!!! Nevertheless, they nonetheless belong in a meaningless era. And maybe afutureless dimension!!!

In the event you have time and are allowed to venture forth unto the excellent traditional auto displays, like the Dream Cruise on Woodward north of Detroit in August, or the MSRA Back To The 50's held in June at the State Fairgrounds in St Paul - take a look around at the thousands of classic cars there. You hardly ever see of these awesome rides with bug deflectors. You don't see any new sizzling rods with them both. I can notfathom or figure out why that is.

I really feel, as MrSenior Guy, that these items DO serve a very valiant mission, and that they do a great job of redirecting thesekamokaze insects up andbeyond the auto windshield. Or at the very leastfarther up onto the windshield! Ever notice in a car with bug guards attached, you wind up looking through a clear area approximately up to the midpoint of the windshield. From there upward is this huge congregation of dead insects, forcing you to look through the bottom half of the windshield. The upside is that the low half really is clear and easy to see out of. The downside is you are looking so low through the glass that the bug deflector is now in your line of sight, and, needless to say, in the way!!

My wish stays with the automobile designers and suppliers, who, I'm sure will sooner or later figure out a way tomerge this aerodynamic marvel in to the front section on the vehicle! You see so many commercials where they are testing cars and trucks inside these wind tunnels, and developing new and better air flow - it just all seems like a logical next step! But for now, you can search and discover plenty of decent looking auto bug deflectors on line at the many aftermarket auto equipment web shops. Thewhole idea of looking smooth with one of these attached remains "shakey" to me. Possibly if you were to put somestripes or fire balls on it......
