Lois Seymour Bazett Leakey is a famous Archaeologist and naturalist who have been very prominent in human evolutionary development. He is credited with establishing the country to archaeological excavations that have produced real results. He also influenced his whole family to join his trade and succeeded. Kenyan famous sites of excavation include the famous Kariandusi near Lake Elementaita where earlier remains of the ancient man were discovered by the famous archaeologist. The site was excavated in 1928. The presence of tools of trade and caves like the famous Gamble's cave is an indication that the earlier man first settled in Africa. Louis went on to record and classified his findings in historical books about human evolutionary developments. It's through his projects that he met his wife Mary Leakey, who together they continued to work on excavation sites around Kenya. Kenya has famous archeological sites that are today under the care of the Country's National Museums Department. One very famous site is the Olduvai Gorge discovered by Louis Leakey. On this site, they discovered tools used by earlier man to hunt and cook his foods. The tools are very crude but they bear great significance on how man developed his knowledge in object making. This discovery excited Mr. Leakey so much he nicknamed the place Slaughter house'. The earlier man would trap animals and butcher them around here.
