Kenya's Luxury Safari Camps And Lodges
Kenya is undoubtedly one of the finest safari destinations in East Africa with its
dramatic geographical features such as the Rift Valley and wild landscapes, excellent wildlife within its extensive game reserves and luxury safari camps and lodges. Kenya's palm fringed beaches also provide an extra element of luxurious relaxation at the end of a safari vacation. Cottar's 1920 Camp, set in an exclusive concession of the Mara guarantees an authentic safari experience. Accommodating up to a maximum of 22 guests in spacious tents (including four family tents), guests enjoy excellent wildlife viewing opportunities on day and night game drives with professional and knowledgeable guides.
Saruni Mara, is located in a private concession just outside the Mara National Reserve and accommodates only 12 guests in six cottages. Just 10km from the lodge Saruni has its own luxurious tented camp - Saruni Wild. With just three luxury tents this is a very intimate safari experience and can be enjoyed on an exclusive basis.
In Amboseli National Park, Tortillis Camp enjoys excellent views of mighty snow capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Seventeen tents set on raised wooden decks have modern facilities and private views of either the bush or the mountain.
To the north, The Laikipia plateau, is one of the last refuges of the endangered Black Rhino. Sabuk Lodge, a hideaway, in the heart of this area is on private land which enables guests to explore the wilderness in peace and tranquillity. Eight guest cottages are open to the elements with breathtaking views of the river and cliffs.
On the border with the Northern Frontier District, each of the rooms at Loisaba Lodge has private decking overlooking the escarpment and entertainment of the wildlife as they enjoy the waterhole below. For a unique experience guides can accompany guests by camel, safari jeep or horseback to the famous Starbeds for a night's repose on the open, raised platforms under the African sky.
In Shaba National Reserve, Joy's Camp overlooks a large national spring that attracts an abundance of wildlife. The ten luxurious tented rooms are each uniquely decorated and raised off the ground with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.
In the wilderness of Meru National Park, Elsa's Kopje has been scultuped around the natural features of the hill with individual ten stone built cottages that are comfortable and stylish with modern en-suite facilities. An infinity pool carved into the rock offers a lush invitation after the heat of the game drive.
Elsa's Private House, set apart from the cottages, offers an exclusive safari experience and ideal for a family or group with its own private pool. The newly added honeymoon suite is in fact a three tiered cottage with incredible design features, stunning views from the private deck and a sweeping staircase.
