None, nada. The mistake of some marketers is that they rely too much on some keywords that have no effect at ALL on traffic. Thus, to be a successful affiliate marketer, you must find the target keywords, that can draw significant traffic into your site. Any other keywords are not worth investing your time and effort into. In short, you need to find keywords that will rake in profitable traffic, one that will make sure that your time, effort, and money invested will be returned to you in full.

RISK: If you break this rule, you will NEVER attract the right traffic.

The right traffic means significant traffic. Not just the traffic that comes from people who go into your site from site links, look lost, then get off without browsing around or registering. What you need is to hook in traffic that will do something profitable, like register into your online dating site. If you break this rule, you will never attract right traffic, and in so doing, of course, in the long run, you will fail. Ouch, right?

The Golden Rule Number Two:

FACT: Many traffic-attracting keyowrds, have little or no commercial value.

Okay, so some of the traffic-generating keywords, aren't really marketable. They have little or no commercial value at all. Meaning that though the people who search these types of keywords really do get in and register, and generate income, there aren't a lot of people who do so, because as mentioned, the keywords have little or no commercial value. Thus, you have to target keywords that have significant profit potential, and that are also marketable.

RISK: Break this rule, and you attract "BROWSERS" and not "BUYERS."

The thing is, you must be careful to choose the keywords that can give you 5-10 times more profit potential, than those that are low profit keywords. Obviously, if you do ignore this rule, in the long run, again, you will fail.

The Keyword Golden Rule Number One:

FACT: 90%$ of keywords have too much competition for you to come out as number one.


Tough pill to swallow, but true. Apart from the very hard-working and established marketer who got the top-spot, then the rest of us would treat this news with horror. However, there is still a chance to get a satisfying high rank. How? By targetting keywords that only have acceptable competition. In this way, it is quite realistic to compete against the other sites that also promote the same keywords.

RISK: Marketers need to have a systematic and analytical way to analyze competitive sites.

If you don't have this kind of system, then of course, there's no chance of you knowing your ranking at all. Much more, to actually rank high enough that readers would go to and register into your site.
