Khao Sok has a large variety of wildlife and Some people even claim to have seen tigers walking around the national park. Some of the birds are just so beautiful, it seems like you see a new species of bird evey 10 minutes, the colors and variety is amazing The oldest evergreen rainforest is only a few hours from Phuket and if you are ever in the area you just can no miss out on seeing such a beautiful place.
Khao Sok is now just starting to become a tourist destination in Thailand but still unknown to most tourists, if their was a great time to visit this place, now is that time as I see the numbers of tourists skyrocketing in a few years time and prices going up. The khao sok tree house resort are amazing here, why not spend a vacation sleeping in a tree house while being in the rainforest.
Khao Sok is a place you should visit if you ever come to Thailand, believe me it will be one of the most unforgettable experiences you will have. I was there in January 2010 and did not think it would really anything much as I am not really into nature or the outdoors, but this trip has changed my mind forever.
