If your child has a playroom or their play area is in their bedroom, finding a way to keep all those toys and other things organized is a must. If the play area is set up with a place for everything and everything in its place, according to the old adage, then teaching your child to keep it that way should be easy. It's a great idea to teach your child to put one toy away before getting another one. Therefore, getting kids furniture to hold those toys is important.

In the bedroom, utilizing wasted space is a great way to get and stay organized. Most of us neglect the under the bed area. If this space is not used for storage, then it becomes wasted space and an area for dust bunnies and lost toys. If you are in the market for a new bed for your child, buy one that has drawers under the mattress. If you already have a bed, take advantage of that space with under the bed totes, crates, and other storage solutions. It's incredible how useful that space can be.

Another wasted space is the child's closet. Most closets are a single bar across the top, a ledge above that, and then lots of open floor space. Closets easily become disorganized, but since kid's clothes are short there's usually tons of space below for storing other things. It's a good idea to put short shelves or bins in the closet to keep toys tucked out of sight. Adding a shoe organizer for shoes and for things like medium sized cars, stuffed animals, and other things that fit will keep closets clutter free and closable too. There are also other kids' furniture options that you can add to a closet for even more organization.

Your child's desk should be clutter free to be an area that is enjoyable for crafts, art, or homework. Choose a desk with a large workspace and with several drawers. Each drawer can be used to store different supplies: crayons, magic markers, and colored pencils in one, pen and number 2 pencils in another, and another with colored folders for homework that stays at home or maybe blank paper to encourage active imaginations. Of course drawers should be stocked with age appropriate tools and activities.

Dressers are a great storage solution for keeping things organized. While we mostly think that clothes belong in dressers, the truth is that anything can go in one. Keep larger toys and other play items stored in a dresser drawer and kept out of sight when not in use.

Keep in mind the other traditional kid's furniture storage solutions including bookcases, toy chests and several other options. Plus, always remember that the best sounding organizational advice is useless if it does not fit into your family's lifestyle and habits.
