Today it can be very difficult to get kids into an exercise routine or any exercise at all
. They all just want to play video games or watch tv. Have you ever thought about setting up a punching bag that is made just for kids? It could be just the thing to get them motivated.
My kids love to play rough and most of the times, I am their punching bag. Their little fists seem to ball up perfectly and hit me in all of the wrong places and of course being dad, I can not let them know that their little blows sometimes slip my guard and hurt.
I had an idea one day and splurged and bought them a kids punching bag. It was one of the best purchases that I have ever made for my children. They absolutely love beating this bag senseless and the whole time they are getting much more than a workout. They are building muscles. They are developing great hand to eye coordination. They are developing great balance, but the most important thing is they are having fun. When kids have fun they want to do it again and again. They do not even know that they are exercising. If I were to ask my kids if they wanted to go and exercise, they would surely frown upon the idea. If I ask them if they want to play with the punching bag, they are all over it like flies on, well you know the saying.
The only down side that I see to this whole thing is that now when they play rough with me they really put a beating on me but that is ok, because that is what dads are for.
