Kill the Irishman Never Movie Review Online

If you happen to be a fan of mob movies, you might want to take a look at the trailer for Kill the Irishman, the latest film from Jonathan Hensleigh (The Punisher). Based on the true story of Irish mobster Danny Greene, the film is set in Cleveland in 1976 where Greene essentially went to war with the Italian mafia and earned a reputation as "the man the mob couldn't kill."

Although Hensleigh's 2004 version of The Punisher starred Thomas Jane in the lead role, this movie finds him teaming up with the most recent Punisher, Ray Stevenson.

Don't kid yourself, this definitely ain't a Scorsese flick, but there is still enough talent in the cast that might make it worth checking out. In particular, it's nice to see Christopher Walken finally getting a chance to return to a bad ass role instead of continuing to be a parody of himself, and Vincent D'Onofrio, Val Kilmer,

Linda Cardellini and Vinnie Jones also co-star. However, I gotta say, the song they chose for the second half of this trailer is pretty awful and kind of soured the whole thing for me. I love any film that has Christopher Walken in it and Kill The Irishman looks to deliver more of what I love from him. Co-Starring Ray Stevenson and Val Kilmer it is a crime thriller based on a true story that is hard to believe at times.

Over the summer of 1976, thirty-six bombs detonate in the heart of Cleveland while a turf war raged between Irish mobster Danny Greene (Ray Stevenson) and the Italian mafia. Based on a true story, KILL THE IRISHMAN chronicles Greene's heroic rise from a tough Cleveland neighborhood to become an enforcer in the local mob.

Turning the tables on loan shark Shondor Birns (Christopher Walken) and allying himself with gangster John Nardi (Vincent D'Onofrio), Greene stops taking orders from the mafia and pursues his own power.

Surviving countless assassination attempts from the mob and killing off anyone who went after him in retaliation, Danny Greene's infamous invincibility and notorious fearlessness eventually led to the collapse of mafia syndicates across the U.S. and also earned him the status of the man the mob couldn't kill.
