Killer Bees - Valuable Details That You Must Know

If you are a bee keeper, you must be aware that there are different kinds of bees

. There is a need for you to know this thing so that it would be easier for you to identify each of them. There are some bees that are gentle and can produce plenty of honey but there are also some bees which are not-so-gentle because it is already in their nature to be aggressive.

One of the types of bees that you must know is the Africanized honey bees also known as the killer bees. Obviously, these bees originate in Africa and as years pass by, they have been brought to some other places. Most of these bees can now be found on the different areas of the Americas.

But then again, before judging the Africanized honey bees, you must first know some important information about them. You must know that most people have this wrong perception about these bees. Everyone thought that the main goal of these bees is to attack and kill people but this is wrong because these bees are just like some other bees, they will just attack you when you threaten or disturb them. Killer bees are not really here to kill a person and that is the perception that you must not believe. However, you must know that they are highly aggressive so you must avoid getting near them.

They are called killer bees because they are capable of killing grown adult when they are disturbed so you better give them the peace and the respect that they need. Once you get near them, it would be better if you will cover your face and your upper body and run away as fast as you can inside your house or your car. An ordinary bee may chase you for fifty yards but Africanized bees may even pursue in chasing you farther.

Just like any other bees, they can be found in holes, in the pipes, flower pots, rock piles, trash cans, and logs. They are not that good to feed and they are not that perfect for beekeeping since they produce less honey compared to the ordinary bees. So never ever plan including them on your list of bees to feed. But then again, you must also remember that in order for them to not get near you and harm you, you must also not get near them or disturb them. This is the only way so that they will not attack you.
