Kingfisher Airlines - the only airline in India and one of the airlines in the world to get a 5 star rating was established in 2005

. This Mumbai based airline that has its registered office in Bangalore is owned by Dr. Vijay Mallya. This airline operates about 375 flights daily to 71 destinations. The airline that is identified with the logo of a flying kingfisher bird in spectacular colors is a luxury airline offering world class services at reasonable prices. This airline that is currently working with aircrafts like Airbus A320, Airbus A319-100 and ATR-72, was the first airline in India to operate with all-new aircrafts. It has also notched up several firsts to its credit such as being the first Indian airline to order the new Airbus A380.

Ever since the start of its operation on the 9th of May 2005, Kingfisher Airlines has constantly reinvented itself by introducing a range of market firsts that have completely revolutionized the idea of flying. Also this was one of the first airlines to start in-flight entertainment. This airline that has created a niche for itself that also offers excellent services to customers. A complementary Welcome kit containing a pen, facial tissue and headphone to use with the IFE system are provided to passengers on-board. It has also made an alliance with Dish TV that enables live entertainment to be provided to passengers. The other services include personal valet at the airport, personal lounges with refreshments and entertainment on flight, three course meals and sleeper seats.

Kingfisher Airlines has a transport network that connects 60 Indian and 6 international destinations. The domestic destinations include Kolkata, Tirupati, Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Vishakhapatnam, Vijaywada, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, North Lakhimpur, Patna, Port Blair, Chandigarh, Goa,Raipur, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Agartala, Madurai, Dehradun, Agra, Varanasi, Lucknow and Badgogra while the international ones are Hong Kong, Colombo, Dhaka, Bangkok, Singapore and Dubai.

Kingfisher Airlines further expanded its transport network and the newly introduced services include daily direct flights to and from New Delhi and Jammu. Another new introduction is the daily direct flights between New Delhi and Lucknow. Apart from this Kingfisher also offers a new service that connects New Delhi with Khajuraho and halts at Varanasi.
