Hyundai i10 was launched by Hyundai Motor India Limited in 2007 and opened to positive reviews from most corners

. Coming with new Kappa engine, i10 was again launched in 2008. It falls in the A segment of cars and competes with other models like Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo, Tata Indica Xeta and Chevrolet Spark. The car is an affordable car that caters the needs of small family. The car has been launched in four variants namely Magna O, Magna, D-lite, and Era. All the four variants come in varied colors and with a 1.1-liter engine. The kappa engine variants namely Magna, Asta, and Sportz are loaded with a 1.2L 16V DOHC engine.

The 1.1-litre Inline-four iRDE engine of the initial launched four variants churns a power of 66 bhp at 5,500 revs with a torque of 99 Nm of torque @ 2800 rpm. The all new 1.2L 16V DOHC Kappa engine features in three variants and offers a power of 79 bhp at 5200 rpm with torque 114 Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm. All the eight variants come with 5-speed manual transmission thats known to be responsive and quick. The i10 thats powered by Kappa engine also comes with 4-speed automatic transmission. The 1.1L I-4 Petrol engine of i10 offers fuel efficiency of 12kmpl in the city and 16.3kmpl on the highway roads. The other variant, which is 1.2L I-4 MT Petrol engine, offers fuel efficiency of 11.7kmpl and 16kmpl in the city and on highway respectively. The 1.2L I-4 AT Petrol lacks little on mileage with a reported fuel efficiency of 9.1kmpl in the city and 15kmpl on the highway.

i10 features two large headlamps that make a clear new model in the section. Other features on the exteriors of i10 include sharply raked windscreen and ellipsoidal glass. In the interiors, i10 is completely smart and new with the use of luxury fittings. Standard features in the kappa engine include electronic trip-meter, low fuel warning lamp, air conditioner with heater, and electronic odometer. On the safety note, i10 has seat belts, child safety door locks, crumple zones, front air bags and ABS.

Undoubtedly, Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine is the prime highlight of i10. It comes in wide range of colors with optional anti-lock braking system. The styling is elegant in both exteriors and interiors. Also, the VFM pricing is another reason to opt for this Hyundai model. The fuel efficiency is just about alright for this affordable model. The interiors are spacious and the exteriors are lavish.

What doesnt work?

What you will not like in i10 is the last of adjustable headrests on the rear. The mileage offered is strictly average with no variant deserving special mention.
