Cryosurgery is usually performed by applying a freezing agent to the damaged skin via a direct swab, or spray. Cryosurgery can be an extremely effective method of age spot removal. However, it carries the highest risk of cosmetic procedures that deal with age spots. It is possible to incur blisters, bleeding, unusually light patches of skin, and even permanent scaring. The advantages to cryosurgery do include no recovery time, and the short length of the actual procedure.
