Mint Tea was discovered in Morocco in the 18th century
. It is a part of Moroccan food culture and is widely consumed there. Now the tradition has spread all over the world. Preparation of Mint Tea: First the tea leaves are cleaned with boiling water so that all the dust is removed and then they are dried. Again tea is boiled with water for some time and sugar and fresh mint or dried mint is added to enhance taste. But an important point should be taken care that the vessel should be covered or else the valuable oils will evaporate. Some people do add sugar and mint while brewing and not at the time of boiling. Then it is strained in the teapot and served into tiny glasses from a height in order to form foams in the glass.
