. We see many people using special vehicles like the disabled scooters, indoors and outdoors as well. Mobility scooters are designed for people who face mobility problems and cant walk to different places without any support. Thanks to the technology, we get to see a lot of variety in mobility aids these days. Mobility scooters are available in many models like 2 wheeled, 3 wheeled, 4 wheeled and 5 wheeled to choose from. They are one of the best inventions of man that gives the feeling of independence back to the disabled and needy.
In general disabled scooters are relatively reliable and need little maintenance. They are operated using steering for direction and a tiller, which is similar to a bicycle or motorbike handlebar. These scooters are available in various size and designs for disabled people to choose according to their comfort level. Generally mobility scooters have two major components like the electric motor and the battery that provides power to the motor along with the lights and horn. For disabled many routine tasks are performed with great difficulty and effort. These scooters help in undertaking these routine tasks without any support, giving a feeling of independence to such people.
There has been a great rise in the sale of these mobility scooters in the past few years. Heavy and regular use can result into common problems related to battery or tires. Disabled scooters need regular maintenance and servicing for proper functioning. It might also need replacement of tires or batteries in a few years. If proper care is not taken, you can get stuck in the middle of the road without any help and support. To avoid all such situations regular maintenance and servicing is required. You need to charge up the batteries and connect them properly before finally taking the vehicle outdoors.
However, even if regular maintenance trips are undertaken, there are chances of them getting damaged due to rough road conditions and weather. It can be damaged while mounting or dismounting a pavement without a dropped kerb or by driving your mobility scooter through an excessive wet area, such as a deep puddle. If you are driving through a very dusty or marshy area, it is likely to get damaged. Although damage may not be immediately apparent, but dirt and grit entering the motor will affect the functioning of various parts in the long run. Proper care should be taken while taking them outdoors. Always check the weather outside and in bad weather step out only if it is necessary. Precautions taken on time can save not only time, but also many dangerous accidents ahead.
