Know More about Ferret Colors

There is a wide variety of ferret colors and patterns that you can choose from

. Most of the time, ferret buyers base their decision on ferret colors when making a purchase. The most common ferret colors are sable, cinnamon and albino. Among all three, the albino is considered as the most popular, since they resemble pure snow because of their white color and are known to be the best hunters. Sable ferrets, on the other hand, come in different variations, such as the chocolate, champagne and the black sable. These 3 colors, although it belongs to one classification, have their own distinctions. Lastly, although the cinnamon color is rare, it is still considered as one of the five most preferred ferret colors.

The first color, which is the albino, is most popular among hunters. They prefer this color because they find it easier to spot after hunting. Aside from that, hunters find its pure snow white coat very attractive, aside from its red or pink eyes. The black sable is characterized by an undercoat which is white or cream in color, along with guard hairs that are black in shade. Their eyes are often black or dark brown, and its noses have brown patches on them. Most probably, the reason why pet owners prefer a black sable is because of its black, glossy coat.

One of the most admired ferret colors is the other variation of the sable, which is the chocolate sable that is characterized by its brown chocolate coat and an undercoat which is cream in color. This color is found to be a lot warmer than that of the black sable, and is preferred by most pet owners with fainter hearts. Another one is the champagne-colored sable, which has a lighter shade of chocolate. Its guard hairs are tan or chocolate in shade with a white or cream undercoat. Its eyes may vary from light to dark burgundy, but its nose is usually pink. Last but not the least, is the cinnamon-colored ferret. Although this type is rare, more people still loved this type just like the rest of the ferret colors . Its guard hairs are usually brown with reddish implications at times. Its coat usually range from reddish brown to blonde, and possess tails and legs with slightly darker shade. The eyes of the cinnamon colored ferrets are sometimes light or dark burgundy, and its nose can vary from pink, beige and brown.
