Planning to work in Europe entails some research especially if you are not a citizen of a European Union member country

. In places like Denmark and Sweden, there are forms needed for you to be allowed to work in those countries. If you are working for a short period of time, less than 3 months, then you may not need to fill up these forms but working any longer than that, and a special work permit must be processed for you to work there. In Spain, you must apply and get a NIE number which will always be your number as a prerequisite to work there. Getting a NIE number is not as difficult to do since there are websites that offer information and may even process this for you, for a fee.

There are some organizations that offer special work programs to work abroad. One of these organizations is called AIESEC, which is the largest international student organization in the world. They offer an internship program called the International Traineeship Exchange Program wherein students and fresh college graduates can work in a country from a period that range from 3 to 18 months. This organization has a global presence from North America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. It is a popular organization especially for business and economics students who want to do foreign traineeship programs. Most Europeans wish to go to places like Asia while Asians would like to work in places like North America and Europe.

The advantages of doing a traineeship abroad are as follows:

- Good for your resume. Working abroad for a period of time is a good indicator of your flexibility and ability to work with groups and take orders. It is also a verification of your ability to be responsible which plays an important role when applying for the job. There are some trainees who have been absorbed by the company they have worked for.

- Working abroad opens your eyes. The ability to work in a place that may have different cultures and norms than your home country enables you to see the world in a broader view. Working abroad also means your adjustment to the lifestyle in a place that may not be your comfort zone. Being able to accomplish that is a reward in itself as you face the impediments of being far away from home, from your friends, from your relatives. The time you spend abroad are life learning sessions and build good character formation.
