If there is a common break up reason for heterosexual beings, then that is lack of appreciation. You have to know that straight guys want to be complimented every now and then. It does not have to be big, just simple 'you are good with that' lines can do. Or you can even ask him to help you with repairing your car and tell him you will die without his help. You know things that will boost up his ego.
