Producers and spinners of wool
The contribution of the raw material. The Aubusson tapestry is born of the ability of artisans to transform the rich fleece sheep wool into yarn strength. These wools are oiled and washed in the Creuse, before being carded, spun and twisted. It takes about three days and seven operations to transform one kilogram of wool in a double thread a length of one kilometer.
The artist or painter cartonnier

Following the model of the carton, the Aubusson tapestry is the result of the intersection of warp and weft. The string is the son of a sheet of cotton tightly stretched, the frame is generally composed of son wool or silk wrapped around flutes. These flutes are made between the son of the chain, son separated into even and odd.
