Chicken pox symptoms include rashes with itchiness and fever. Firstly fever shows up and then after 2 to 4 days rashes starts to spread on face followed by trunk and then spread around the body. Another prominent feature is body aches and fatigue which vary from person to person.

The primary symptom rashes start to get pus filled blisters and then have scabs. Many rashes appear in phases and many different kinds of rashes show up at different stages. In many infected children the rashes appear to be mild in nature but may also get grave in some cases. If proper care is not taken these may also become life threatening as well. The risk from the rashes is more in adults compared to children.

The spread of this illness has a wide reach as it is a contagious disease. It normally spreads from the droplets released by coughing or sneezing of the infected persons. The infection also spreads from the fluid of the chicken pox rashes. It normally takes eight to ten days for rashes to appear and another ten days after the scabs fall from the body.

Chicken pox may be caused more than once in a whole lifetime. But this situation may arise very rarely. Once medicated it is really rare to get re infected as one medication can become life time immunity.

To prevent Chicken pox vaccination is the best procedure especially for adults as the infection tends to get graver in adults. The famous saying fits best here which says "prevention is better than cure". For chicken pox no vaccination is 100% perfect. But getting vaccinated helps passively as the treatment required will be mild compared to the non-vaccinated sufferers. If you are vaccinated you may get milder rashes and may not get fever also.

The treatment for this dreadful disease is mainly directed towards the improving symptoms. The best method is to avoid the secondary bacterial symptoms by cleverly undergoing the medication with good hygiene. Lotions, tablets and sometimes neem can be useful as medication for these grave infections.

Majorly painkillers and simple paracetamol is used. Use of aspirin should be strictly avoided as it may lead to permanent brain damage in children.

Specific anti-viral antibiotics usage is not required unless the infection has turned into a grave case or in an adult.
