Location: On the southern ridge of the Palani Hills in the Western Ghats at the altitude of 6854 feet above the sea level which borders Kerala.

On the drive from Koda Road Station to Kodi, i decided to spend my holidays in Kodaikanal. I heard from my father that the place is a true paradise for the honeymooners and the rowdy boys gangs. The place has not been explored out completely. Most of the entertainment of Kodaikanal has been centered around the starfish shaped lake which the nucleus of the Kodaikanal.

The entertainment such as the boat ride, kids screaming for the horse rides and people negotiating the driver for the 16 sights tours. The town Kodaikanal is not so big having churches, hotels, restaurants touts and also the most special home made chocolates.

Things to do and see in Kodaikanal:

To get the glimpse of Kodaikanal, its mostly recommended to travel with your vehicle, if the traveler is unable to hire taxi then then one can even hire bicycle. If you are a nature lover, then Coaker's Walk is not to be missed, its a strip of the paved road on the steep southeastern side of the mountain. Opposite to the Coaker's Walk the traveler can find the Bryant Park, its a Botanical Garden established by the British forest officer.

Around 7 kilometers away from the park there is Green Valley View Point and is known to be the best attraction of the city. The Pillar Rocks is 400 feet high and is the vertical column of three rocks. The major attraction of the city is the waterfall Silver Cascade located at the distance of 7 kilometers outside the city and it also forms the backwaters of Kodai lake.

Excursions from Kodaikanal:

Beri Jam: Is a beautiful place located at the distance of 23 kilometers with the dense forest of acacia and pine. The place is quite protected for the scenic trek. There is the threat of wildlife which resulted in the regulated entry.

Palani: Palani located at the distance of 65 kilometers and is an abode to the Lord Murugan and it can be travelled with the 650 steps where one can view the majestic Idumban and Koidai Hills.
