Kunal Kapoor is the brand ambassador of many popular brands like Thumbs up, Indian Terrain, Ray Ban and Mahindra Logan. He is the face of the NGO ave the Children, along with Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
Kunal Kapoor is currently learning how to fly airplanes at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh.
He is keen to get his Private Pilot License (PPL). In February 2010, he received his skydiving qualifications from Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. Kunal used to write weekly columns for HT City, the lifestyle supplement of Hindustan Times.

The film is about a young british documentary filmmaker who comes to india to make a documentary on india filmmakers based on the diary of her grandfather who was a british officer in india. She selects a group of five young men who will play the roles of chandrasekhar azad, bhagat singh, shivaram rajguru, ashfaqulla khan, and ram prasad bismil.
During the filming of the documentary their friend who is a fighter pilot dies in a plane crash. This incident brings to the forefront the government corruption. The youngsters are determined to avenge their friend death. Kunal Kapoor played the role of Aslam, a simple, quiet, strong and kind hearted Muslim boy from a poor family. He acts as Ashfaqulla Khan in the documentary film.
Rang de basanti (2006) was a blockbuster film. It was critically acclaimed. And the masses loved it. It was india official entry to the oscars. Kunal performance in the film received rave reviews. He was nominated for the filmfare best supporting actor award.
In 2007, Kunal kapoor was seen in three films. His first release was hattrick (2007), directed by milan luthria. The film also starred rimi sen, paresh rawal, danny denzongpa and nana patekar. The film was a box office failure. Next he was seen in aaja nachle (2007), produced by yash chopra. It starred madhuri dixit and it was her comeback film in bollywood.
The film also starred ranvir shorey, konkona sen sharma and akshaye khanna. The film failed to do well at the box office. His last release in 2007 was laaga chunari mein daag, directed by pradeep sarkar and starring jaya bachchan, rani mukerji, konkona sen sharma, anupam kher, abhishek bachchan and hema malini.
Kunal kapoor was paired opposite konkona sen sharma. This film too, failed at the box office. In 2008, Kunal Kapoor starred in BACHNA AE HASEENO (2007), directed by Siddharth Anand. It starred Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba.
The film revolved around a young man who meets three women at different stages in his life. He finds true love with the third girl. However he breaks the hearts of the first two girls. Kunal Kapoor plays a Sikh man, who is married to Minissha Lamba.
The film did average business at the box office. Kunal brief performance in the film was appreciated. Next Kunal was seen in a special appearance in WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR (2008).
The film was directed by Shyam Benegal. The film also starred Amrita Rao and Shreyas Talpade. Kunal was seen as Bansi, the husband of Amrita Rao character Kamla. The film was critically acclaimed. In 2010, Kunal Kapoor was seen in LAMHAA, directed by Rahul Dholakia.
The film also starred Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu. Sanjay Dutt plays an army officer who is sent to Kashmir to find out who is behind the extremist attacks. Kunal Kapoor was seen in a supporting role as a aspiring political leader. The film did not succeed at the box office.
Kunal has lent his voice to the character of Lord Ram in the upcoming animated mythological film MAHAYODDHA RAMA, directed by Raizada Rohit Jaisingh Vaid. He will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap next film, DOGA, based on the character of Doga appearing in Raj Comics.
His most awaited upcoming film is Farhan Akhtar DON 2, the sequel of DON. Kunal Kapoor will be seen in a supporting role. The film stars Shahrukh Khan as Don. Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta are also a part of the cast.
