Kung Fu For Street Fighting, Effective?

Kung Fu is one of the oldest and most popular forms of martial arts

. It is said to be over four thousand years old as it originated in China during the Xia Dynasty. This fighting style was developed for militant tactics and to teach to the soldiers. It focuses on training body and mind as they are both equally important. In fact, that is where the term yin and yang came from as you need balance on both sides, otherwise the knowledge you learn will have been unstable. The mental training that you will practice will allow for you to fully utilize the physical traits you will learn. It is to provide some sort of clarity and peacefulness with your surrounding which will keep you from clouding up your judgment in any stressful situation you may find yourself in. Kung Fu is widely used around the world still today, and is commonly used in fighting scenarios like tournaments and MMA matches. The fact that it has been around for so long and is still popular simply states that this form of martial arts works, and will allow you to be successful in any fight you can get yourself in to.

Typically, Kung Fu is broken up into two different regions, North and South. Northern style focuses on a more kick based approach. This focuses on powerful kicks, high jumps and rapid and fluid movements. The southern style focuses on more arm based attacks. This deals with strong arm and hand techniques, solid stances, and quick footwork. Both styles provide tools that classify as soft and hard martial arts. Soft martial arts is more of a defensive method that focuses on counter attacks, or anything that uses the opponents energy against them. Hard martial arts is more of an offensive scheme that deals with aggressive, quick, and powerful strikes. Many mental techniques are used in both styles of Kung Fu as well since mental training is the basis of the sport.

It is also a great way to either get or stay in shape. It requires a good amount of physical training that will train your body in agility, strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance. These quick movements will allow you to fully utilize the power of your attacks. With these techniques and enough mental training, you will be able to easily disarm and disable your opponent. The mental training will also carry over into your everyday life. These techniques can be used to focus your mind on accomplishing any task that is stressful and enduring. The power of being able to focus your mind and to clear it of all distractions is a very useful tool for everyday life and will help you to be successful in what ever you decide to do.
