The Longman dictionary of contemporary English describes a mistake as something unwise or stupid that someone does and later regrets doing afterwards
. It is bound to be made by anybody at any point in time and it is usually followed by a correction. A saying that you learn from your own mistakes' so that another of that kind would not be made next time is a rampant thought by many people.
But have you ever observed the dangers attributed to this? I mean have you ever felt the inconveniences encountered in the quest to learning from your own mistakes?
A thousand and one mistakes are made by individuals on hourly, daily or weekly basis and many if not all of these mistakes are being communicated through so many means so as to be aware of them, know ways to avoid or avert such occurrences and get the various avenues to make corrections to those mistakes.
For instance, many youths are being faced by this ugly situation of learning from their mistakes and to make amends to this, they sometimes have to go through hardship to correct themselves and even suffer the detriments or the havoc being caused by that mistake.
Furthermore, to recover from the old saying 'learn from your own mistakes', you have to reawaken your intelligence quotient as a youth by taking a step forward to make positive use of the pieces of information you get about other's mistakes.
This would not only improve your sense of responsibility, save you from unnecessary stress to correct the consequences attached to that wrong decision you made but prepare you adequately for the challenges you would face in your respective field.
