LG Optimus 2X the World's First Dual Core Smartphone

The LG Optimus 2X is the first dual core smartphone to make it to many phone markets and has been attracting a lot of attention for its high performance features on board. Aside from the dual core processors, which make it twice as powerful as the leading handsets from 2010, the Optimus 2X comes with excellent hardware acceleration, connectivity and a gorgeous 8 megapixel camera.

The 2X features a 4" TFT screen that has a very sharp WVGA resolution and high colour depth, and also runs on capacitive technology for multitouch support. The high powered smartphone runs on Google's Android Gingerbread operating system, and is also one of the first smartphones to feature the new version. This is combined with LG's excellent touch interface that comes with a high degree of social networking support for all the popular social networks like Facebook.

The Optimus 2X has some other excellent messaging features as well including email and instant messaging, as well as threaded SMS. Connectivity is not an issue with this latest Optimus phone, as it comes with HSPA and DLNA enabled Wi-Fi. This DLNA support allows you to hook the Optimus 2X up with other DLNA devices such as modern TVs and computers.

Additionally, an HDMI port is also available for you to stream video content from the phone to your TV for you to enjoy it on a larger screen. The Optimus 2X comes with playback support for 1080p videos, which is full HD quality, and can even record such videos on its fantastic 8 megapixel camera.

This camera comes with an LED flash and touch focus to complement its superb video recording with excellent still photography as well. Through Facebook and Picasa integration you can easily upload photos to share online, or just keep them for your own entertainment. There is also a secondary 1.3 megapixel camera that you can use for video calling through Google Talk.

Along with superb HD video support the 2X is ideal for music content as well, with an excellent media player on board and many alternatives on offer from Android Market. Additionally you can listen to music through an FM radio, and through Android Market you can download many apps and games to enhance the phone.

The dual core processor is put to good use with the intensive features like video and gaming, but the 2X is also a superb handset for less hardware demanding tasks such as web browsing. The 2X comes with an excellent web browser that includes Adobe Flash support and the spacious 4" screen is ideal for viewing web pages in all their glory.

Although some people have now got their eyes on other dual core handsets on the horizon it should not be ignored that the Optimus 2X is one of the finest smartphones currently on the market. There are no other phones that yet match its processing power, and the 2X also packs a significant punch when it comes with connectivity and video recording. The Optimus 2X is an excellent offering by LG and if things continue this way, 2011 should be a very good year for the South Korean company.
