. This is a non- profit organization that offers professional certifications for Linux programmers and Linux administrators. LPI certification programs cover various examinations that are completely about Linux topics. Candidates can take LPI examinations in all major cities around the world. Even the examinations are converted in to various languages and candidates can select their convenient language option for writing the LPI examination. Normally, LPI examinations are multiple choice questions that are paper based examination or computer based examination online. Registration:

Candidates can take their LPI examination in any of their nearby examination center. One mandatory thing that all candidates should follow is registration through online. Registration through online is mandatory because candidates will receive an LPI identification number that is required to submit it in the examination center. Candidates who fail to register online or fail to receive LPI identification number will not allowed for writing the examination and it may affect the candidate's exam planned schedule.

Selecting your program:

Linux professional institute offer various programs and candidates can select their examination from the LPI website directly. After selecting the program, candidates can continue with exam fee payment.

Reading and understanding the LPI policies:

Candidates should read and understand about LPI policies regarding the examination expiry date, retakes and purpose of LPI identification number etc. It is necessary to understand the LPI policies before taking any examination.

Scheduling for an examination:

Candidates can schedule the examination according to their convenience. Candidates can register for LPI examination in either Pearson VUE centers or in Prometric centers. Exam registration in Pearson or Prometric centers requires LPI identification number. Scheduling for the examination will be completed once the exam fee is paid. Examination fee will cost around 160$ with no tax or discounts included. Certain LPI certification examination costs up to 260$ and it differs with examination type.

Receiving the certification:

Once candidates complete their examination, results will be dispatched within 2 weeks and candidates will receive their LPI certification in post (only if passed) along with LPI plastic cards. Candidates can seek for opportunities by using the LPI logo/ LPI plastic cards.
