LPU starts drama club to brush students' English skills
Though it is a well known fact in theory that education provided in a play way manner is more effective, very less implementation of the same can be seen practically. To prove the need for a new method to make education more interesting for the students, Department of Computer Applications, LPU has started a drama club to encourage English learning.
Through this club, the students shall not only be able to brush up their English speaking skills but also gain confidence to appear for the Group Discussions, which have become an integral part of the selection process for a job. As all the activities beginning from deciding the topic to writing the play, selection of the students who needed help through this technique, was done by the students, this will help in enhancing team building and leadership qualities for also.
6 teams from BCA and MCA classes participated in the same and performed on various topics like Christmas Carols', Man a slave of circumstances', Generation Next leaving family aside', it is all about attitude' etc . Out of these the best prize was won by the team performing the play It is all about attitude, Samriti Rana, a student from the winning team said, "I was very hesitant to speak in English but with this play not only have I overcome my fears but also enhanced my vocabulary."
Mrs Rashmi Mittal, Executive Dean, LPU who was present to judge and felicitate the winning team said, "We try to find innovative ways to make learning easy and out of the ordinary for the students. Through this initiative, the students will not only be able to feel comfortable with English language but also get a chance for overall grooming and showcase their talent".
