This Act seeks to regulate the system of paying gratuity to the employees of such
establishments as mines, factories, mills, plantation, shops, Railway Company and ports. It is applicable to all the establishments which come under its purview and once applicable, the number of employees employed with the firm at any given day does not affect the regulation at all.
