Labrador Retrievers can give a lot of attention to their masters but they require a lot of attention as well. They have a very pleasing demeanor but they have a lot of pent up energy that needs to be released through physical exercise as well. At times, these dogs can be quite dependent as well since they dislike being left alone.

Another thing to take into consideration here is that Labrador Retrievers may not match everyone's needs as well. If you are looking for a guard dog, Labrador Retrievers are not the way to go. These dogs are incredibly alert and will draw attention to abnormalities by barking but 99% of the time, these dogs are more inclined to play with others rather than act as a guardian.
