Lady Gaga put on her 'poker face' as she stood by to listen to the results from the Grammy Award Nominations Concert on Dec

. 2, and the extravagant pop singer had to be pleased with the results. Lady Gaga, the artist best known for her outrageous and bizarre outfits and glass-smashing piano playing at the AMAs, was one of the night's biggest hits at the Grammy Award Nominations Concert, and she will walk into the Grammy Awards with a whopping five nominations, leading the pack along with a bevy of femme fatales (see: Beyonce, Taylor Swift) at her side.

Gaga is up for five of the biggest awards of the night at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, which will take place Jan. 31 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The eccentric pop princess is up for Album of the Year (The Fame), Song of the Year ("Poker Face"), Record of the Year ("Poker Face"), Best Dance Recording ("Poker Face") and Best Electronic/Dance Album (The Fame) at the 2010 Grammys, and she's sure to make a strong showing at her second-ever Grammy appearance.

Lady Gaga has been at the epicenter of all the buzz in the pop music industry over the past year, as her over-the-top antics and bold artistic statements have echoed throughout the globe while she has put the nation in a state of trance with songs like "Just Dance," "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi." Her current Monster Ball Tour has been selling out Lady Gaga tickets for dates around the nation, and soon enough she'll perhaps have a Grammy Award to go along with her recently collected MTV VMA Awards.

Now every pop fan's greatest indulgence, Lady Gaga seemingly has found the perfect formula to success in the music industry, and her plethora of awards and nominations over the past year have given her the fuel to further her already-fantastic music career. At the Grammy Award Nominations Concert on Dec. 2, presenter and R&B music icon Smokey Robinson spoke of the pop star's success, saying, "I think that Lady Gaga is so different and she has taken the world by storm. I enjoy her music. So I think that she's unique; unique always has a chance."

Gaga's uniqueness is something that she's harbored since Day 1 in the recording industry. The artist whose real name is Stefani Germanotta got her rise in the music business after attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, taking her stage name from the Queen song "Radio Ga-Ga." The talented pop vixen was discovered by rapper Akon in the mid-2000s and signed with his Kon Live label (in association with Interscope Records) in the late 2000s, immediately scoring fame in 2008 thanks to her first smash hit "Just Dance."

Propelled into the spotlight upon release, "Just Dance" led the way for Gaga's full-length debut album The Fame in 2008, and the hits just keep coming for this blonde bombshell. Lady Gaga has recently been on the move with her Monster Ball Tour, and the smash single "Bad Romance" has become her fifth consecutive Top 10 single, signifying only a smooth ride to come for this extraordinary performer.
