Fans love Lady Gaga. The singer was in San Diego on Dec. 19, and although Gaga continued to scream "San Jose" throughout the first quarter of the show, fans clad in leopard print leotards, MAC makeup and stilettos still screamed her name. Attendees didn't blame her for the mistake, as the traveling songstress has been putting a lot of hours into the Monster Ball World Tour that will see her performing straight through the new year and beyond, hitting Los Angeles' Nokia Theater for three concerts up until Dec. 23, then back again on the 27th in New Orleans.

As her first headlining tour, it's no surprise that she hasn't gotten her bearings yet in regards to all the traveling. Still, there doesn't seem to be a real reason as to why she was calling San Diego, a SoCal city, "San Jose." She was in Las Vegas the night before and doesn't plan on stopping in the northern California city during this jaunt. If you want to see her live, get Lady Gaga tickets online.

This year was Lady Gaga's "it" year, and although she isn't eligible for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards, 2009 remained Gaga's official takeover. Even more evident that this is her year to shine was when MTV named Gaga Woman of the Year. "It means everything," Gaga said to MTV. "I'm not only flattered but really excited. It makes me want to work harder, make better videos and better shows and better music all the time. I really appreciate all the love MTV has shown me, and the support. My performance at the VMAs, for me, was a turning point artistically, and I appreciated that you guys supported me so much." Just hours before she was set to appear on the San Diego stage, Gaga was accepting her success whole-heartedly.

According to MTV, the "San Jose" mishap was forgiven when Gaga apologized, noting that she was told just before taking stage that they were performing in San Jose; as the crowd cheered in forgiveness, Gaga returned just as strong for the next hour-and-a-half set filled with bright lights, costume changes, smoke and her strong voice.

Lady Gaga was born Stefani Germanotta on March 28, 1986 in Yonkers. The Catholic school girl studied music at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts at 17, and has more recently noted that her influences lie in Davie Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Queen (where her name comes from), Madonna and Michael Jackson. When she was 20 years old she started DJing around Manhattan's hottest clubs, where she worked with Lady Starlight (they performed as Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue).

Catching record labels' attention, she signed to Akon's Kon Live in association with Interscope Records and worked as a songwriter. Eventually her debut "Just Dance" was released in April 2008 and became an international hit, featuring Akon's affiliate Colby O'Donis. The single was nominated for a Grammy Award after waiting around the hit dance clubs for several months (it finally made it to number one in January 2009). The next single "Poker Face" was even bigger, followed by "LoveGame" and "Paparazzi."
