Game 3 saw the Magic come back with a vengeance, as the team set a record for their field goal percentage of 65% during the game. Game 3 ended with the Magic winning 108-104, the first ever win for the franchise in an NBA Finals game.

In Game 4 of the Lakers vs. Orlando Magic, the Magic, still excited over their previous win, took the lead early in quarter 1. Kobe Bryant, however, kept his team competitive, scoring 13 points out of the teams total 20 for the first quarter. By halftime however, the Magic were able to take the lead by 12 points. The Lakers still pulled off the win though, with a final score of 99-91. Game 5 saw the Magic face losing the championship to the Lakers on their own home turf.
