This pore allows the food to move into the lower part. Digestion takes place in both the parts and then it is moved into the intestine for further digestion.

The band is inflated and adjusted by way of a small access port of Lap Band System placed just beneath the skin subcutaneously, and then radiopaque isotonic solution or saline solution is introduced into the Lap Band System through the port. Lap Band System is inserted laparoscopically because this is the easy and safe way to insert Lap Band System. It does not include long incisions and staying in hospital for long period of time.
