Laptops Vs Desktops

When you are wondering what kind of computer to get

, whether it is a laptop or a desktop, it can seem like a big choice to have to make. It isn't. Actually, the two options are pretty similar in terms of computing ability, but you need to think about what you are using them for and if you need to be mobile or not.

But, each system has its limitations as well, and understanding both the pluses and minuses are what we will discuss today.

Laptops have one distinct advantage over desktops, and that is they are totally portable, and you can take it with you where ever you go and have access to it. Desktops on the other hand cannot be easily moved, and are meant for one specific place all the time.

Desktops have more than one piece to them, and they require a lot more space and electricity to work right. Laptops can plug in anywhere, and they are designed to be light weight.

A desktop is good to have if most of the use will be in the home, but other than that, laptops do pretty much the same thing as their desktop counterparts. It's just a matter of taste, choice and personal preference that each user can decide for themselves.

Wireless technology is producing a blanket all around us where we can connect to the internet just by turning on our computers, and laptops have built in features to make the most of these advancements in communication.

Laptops cannot take full advantage of this technology because they are in a fixed location, which requires an internet connection. So, having a desktop at home probably means having to subscribe to your local broadband service provider.

Now that you can get a laptop for just a few hundred bucks, there is really no huge advantage to spending twice that much on a desktop system. They are readily available and come in a wide range of various options, but they are worth every penny.
