Speeding tickets are a way of life if you are guilty of breaking the limit on a regular basis, but some speedy drivers have had it worse than others when receiving fines. In some of the Scandinavian countries it is common place to fine the driver a percentage of their income rather than a set fee as this is seen as more of a punishment of the owners of supercars, which tend to go a lot faster than our bog standard city run arounds.
The owner of a Lamborghini Diablo was fined forty four thousand pounds in Finland after beige caught doing forty four miles per hour in a twenty five mph zone, which doesn't seem a great deal in relation to some of the speeds police have caught super car drivers exceeding. It doesn't just apply to car owners either, as in the same country a Harley Davidson driver was fined sixty three thousand pounds doing nearly twenty over the limit.
In Switzerland a driver was caught doing sixty miles per hour in a small village when driving a Ferrari Testarossa and he was ordered to pay nearly one hundred and eighty thousand pounds in fines. This beat the previous record in Switzerland which was owned by a guy who was caught after a lot of previous traffic offences and fined sixty two thousand pounds.
If you own a car in the UK then don't break the limits as this will affect the cost of your Car Insurance Quotes.
