Laser Liposuction Uses A Vast Amount Of Heat To Melt The Fatty Tissue
Laser liposuction is quickly becoming a popular procedure
. The laser abilities available to cosmetic surgeons today allows them to target the fatty cells of the body using a focused amount of heat to melt the fatty cells. The cells are melted and a small incision is made in preparation to remove them.
Standard procedures require larger incisions and extreme amounts of pressure to loosen the fatty cells enough to remove them. The recovery process for the laser surgery is much less invasive. This is due to the smaller incisions and the ability to melt the fat instead of all the pressure it takes to manually loosen them. The laser technique requires much less bruising and swelling.
A local anesthetic is used during the laser procedure to numb only the area being worked on. The patient is not put out completely under a general anesthetic. This means that the patient will be able to recover from the procedure in remarkable timing. Laser liposuction is usually an out patient situation. This is one of the reasons it has become so popular.
Often referred to as the "lunch time lipo" or Smart lipo laser liposuction's recovery time can take just a few days as opposed to the standard procedures which can take up to a six or seven months. The pain level and soreness following the procedure is considerably better. While healing still needs to take place it allows patients to return to their normal every day activities as soon as a day after the operation occurs.
The area of the body being worked on usually determines the time in the clinic. After the liposuction is completed the area is put in some type of girdle or medical wrap. This is done to help shape the area and allow for the desired healing.
Some surgeons leave the incision areas uncovered. It is thought that the drainage is an additional way to rid the body of fat cells. This also adds to a quicker recovery process, as the body tends to heal itself faster with air flowing in and out.
As with all medical procedures laser liposuction is different for everyone and therefore the recovery time is also different. The incision will need to be monitored for infection. Any time the body has been through dramatic change or trauma the procedures should be monitored by a professional daily or at least every few days.
The recovery time for Laser Liposuction has many advantages over the standard liposuction recovery time. Laser liposuction procedures require many alternatives to the standard procedures. These alternatives techniques have proved to be an easier and more economical approach to surgically removing fatty tissues from the human body.
