Apart from a decorating item they can be one of yours cheapest method to earn more XP. For each 19 coins you spend on them you get 1XP. They can also be used to earn the cheapest ribbon available in FarmVille which is the Pat Rat ribbon.

By now you must have understood the importance of hay bales in FarmVille. The more you gain them, the more XP you can earn, but there is one simple problem, which is how you will stack such large amount in FarmVille. If you are unable to design the stacks of properly, you might run into huge logistical problems. This can be undone by stacking them in various designs which will able you to store more of them..The basic designs involve keeping them in shapes of pyramids and squares.

Place a hay bale on an empty piece of land.Then place the second one diagonally to the first hay bale in such a manner that the topmost vertex of first hay bale touches the bottommost vertex of the second. Now you could be easily seeing two "V"shaped blank spaces between the two. Now place the third one side by side to the first you will be surprised to see that it exactly fits the V shape blank space, now repeat it for the fourth one and you have successfully designed stack.

Try using different colored one in your stack designs, it will look more beautiful.This technique can also be used to stack fences and hedges.This is just a basic design, the real game will start when you create tour own designs.
