Laundry Bags: Expanding Their Abilities
Laundry Bags are used to transport your laundry from your home to the laundromat - or
, if you live in a house, downstairs to the basement! They come in many colors and styles, for example with drawstrings or without. Laundry bags can be made of many different materials, like cotton, and can even be used for purposes other than laundry.
Mesh laundry bags are often used when visibility of content is preferred. This way, you can easily tell your whites apart from your colors! Also, many people put their detergents and fabric softeners inside their bag, especially those who have to haul everything to a laundromat. Mesh laundry bags allow them to easily find their detergents by sight alone, without having to feel each bag for them or open every one up, one by one. But normal, "fully covered" bags allow better protection than mesh varieties. Mesh laundry bags are very useful, but most people prefer the more common ones that are "solid" all around. Such bags offer protection against the elements, dirt, and unwanted stares in the case of dirty laundry - or lingerie!
Bags for your dirty clothes do not simply have to be used only for transporting clothes. They can be utilized for any number of purposes, actually. For example, the really strong industrial-grade varieties can be employed in lieu of potato sacks for - you guessed it - potato sack races at your local county fair or church charity social! These bags can also be used in various arts and crafts projects; it all depends on your imagination. For example, why not use them as a kind of giant sock puppet? Maybe not mesh ones, but the other fully covered solid sorts should easily do. With just a few choice alterations here and there, these bags can even be turned into costumes for Purim or Halloween! After all, what's scarier than a giant bag of dirty clothes? And, speaking of holidays, these bags make great stand-ins for Santa's sack!
These ideas may be amusing, but they can really work, as long as you have the right materials to work with. And, of course, it all depends on your imagination. Maybe hide something in them, or use them to collect spare change or empty soft drink cans and bottles for the refund. Naturally, you could just leave laundry sacks alone and use them only for clothes and other fabrics! But why shouldn't they multitask like everything else in the 21st Century?
