Lawsuits In Which Teenage Drivers Struck Pedestrians And Seriously Injured Or Killed Them

It is well known that teenage drivers are at high risk of causing a motor vehicle accident

. Just about every day one can find reports of still more accidents concerning teenage drivers. Many of these accidents involve pedestrian victims. In this article we analyze 4 reported accidents. In 3 of the crashes a person died.

In this report a motor vehicle accident was described in which the driver was a 16 year old who held a junior license which permitted the teenager to drive up to 9:00 pm. The incident, though, occurred on a weekday after 9:00 p.m. The reason why is unclear but somehow the driver lost control of the car. As a result the car hit another vehicle and then struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian died from the injuries sustained in the accident. The pedestrian victim was waiting at a bust stop when the accident happened. The victim was a 65 year old man. The driver survived the accident with only minor injuries. He was, however, arrested and charged with speeding, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide.

In this report the driver of the motor vehicle was a drunk eighteen year old male. The motor vehicle accident occurred prior to dawn on a Sunday. Most drunk driving accidents take place on weekend nights. The driver struck a male pedestrian, 44 years of age, who was crossing a road. Due to the accident he sustained major head injuries. The driver was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence.

This accident involved an 18 year-old male driving in a residential neighborhood at around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. The accident happened when the teenaged driver lost control of his vehicle. The car spun violently before it flipped over, hit the victim and struck a large tree in front of the house. The man had just gotten out of his car to get a pamphlet from the front yard on a home which had a For Sale sign when he was struck by an out of control car. The 67 year old male victim was killed in the accident.

In this report the description was of a 19 year old driver. The young woman was driving in a residential area. The young driver left the scene of the accident after she struck a woman who was gardening in a flower bed in front of her own residence. The teenage driver struck the woman with such force that she hurled her almost 150 feet. The female victim ended up slamming against a truck that was parked in the driveway of her home. The driver did not stop. She was arrested close by roughly half an hour later as she was allegedly returning to the scene to take responsibility for the accident.

Whenever I read a report of a new accident involving a teen driver my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. These types of cases are true tragedies. Victims who survive the accident are often left with injuries that result in permanent disabilities. In incidents involving a fatality the family of the victim suffers the loss of a loved one. Even the life of the teen driver is permanently changed. Still, whether it is from speeding or from drunk driving these accidents continue to happen.
