Lead Generation For MLM - The Most Effective Strategy

Many network marketers who are trying to get better lead generation for their MLM

business will approach it by trying to become a kind of 'jack of all trades' of marketing. Meaning, they will learn a little bit about ten different lead generation methods, and then go out and try to do them all at once. This is a big mistake, and here's why.

You've no doubt heard the saying "a jack of all trades, a master of none." This saying is all too true when it comes to lead generation for an MLM. While it might seem to make sense that putting every kind of traffic generation method into practice at once should multiply the number of leads that will be generated, this actually doesn't end up generally being the result.

Now don't get me wrong, ULTIMATELY you do want to have your marketing system resemble an octopus (meaning that you have numerous of tentacles or different traffic vehicles working simultaneously). If you are newly engaging in lead generation for an MLM, however, trying to have the whole octopus up and running right from the get-go is a mistake.

Why? Because you are likely to not know how to do any of the individual methods well ... and thus not be getting really good results from any of them. Lots of poor or mediocre results equals poor and/or mediocre results overall.


The better way to go about doing lead generation for an MLM is to get good -- in fact, REALLY good -- at one form of traffic at a time. It doesn't matter where you start (whether it's PPC, Facebook advertising, article marketing, SEO etc), just focus on one form of traffic at a time, and focus on it until you have mastered it.

Once you have mastered each form of traffic, then add a new one to your system for lead generation for your MLM. Keep adding new and additional forms of traffic as you master others, and eventually you will have that octopus type marketing system.

So how do you know when have mastered each one? A good rule of thumb is when two things occur: (1) you start to see tangible results (like your articles showing up in Google's search results) and (2) when you feel proficient at it.
