Treating eye migraine can take up to many forms and stages. There can be some people who prefer to lie down in a dark room until the eye migraine passes. Some take medication such as aspirin and ibuprofen to tone down the severity of eye migraine. These treatment methods may not work all the time and in such cases, more powerful medications are issued.

Strong medications sumatriptan and cafergot is used in the treatment of ocular migraines. These medications can be of big help in lessening the pain that is induced by ocular migraine, although medication such as cafergot can have some side effects like nausea and vomiting.

The treatments used in all types of migraine can be similar, but some medical experts have found that certain medications can work differently in other forms of migraine. Try to avoid the possible causes of ocular migraine to prevent it from occurring.
