Learn How To Build Solar Panels For Your Home

Building solar panels for your home is not as complicated as you probably think it is

, but it isn't too simple either. While they are unquestionably worth the time, effort, and expense of building, finding a quality program to learn from can be a little difficult. There are simply too many people trying to make some quick money selling poor quality instructions. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that the plan that they include are good. However, it isn't enough for the plans to be good, they have to have instructions that anyone can follow to be helpful.

But how can you figure out if the plans or program you are looking for are good? Well, I know you aren't going to like it, but you have to read the sales copy. There are a few specific things to look for.

First of all, you want to make sure that the kit, program, or instructions come with a full materials and cut list. A cut list is basically a list of all of the materials that need to be cut before use. Please note however that not all plans will requires cuts to be made, so if it only has a materials list there's no need to immediately assume that they're incomplete. The materials list should not only include each part that you'll need, but what size and how many of each. Nothing is worse than working on solar panels for your home and having to stop halfway and make another run to the hardware store, so I prefer to print a copy of the materials list and use it as a shopping list.

Next, you want to look into the instructions. With rare exception, the more instructions the better. It never hurts to have too much clarification, especially if your handyman (or handywoman) skills aren't spectacular. Here's a quick hint: if there aren't any pictures in the instructions, move on to a different program. It is simply too difficult to build these panels without pictures to follow, to the point that I honestly think it'll be too frustrating without pictures. If the program has videos, you've hit the jackpot. Videos make life so much easier for creating the solar panels for your home, and by having a set of videos to follow it is very easy to keep track of your progress in the build process.

The last thing that you want to check for is a money back policy. While I absolutely hate when people take advantage of these policies, if the instructions that you get are truly useless, you want to make sure that you can get your money back. Look for at least a two week refund window, because you just need enough time to go through the instructions, not to actually follow them. If you are getting confused just looking through them, chances are that you are going to have a difficult time building from them, so I highly recommend reading through the instructions fully before you start.
