Learn How To Deal With Underarm Sweating
If you experience a lot of underarm sweat then you know how embarrassing it can be
. The conditions is also known by the term axillary hyperhidrosis and refers to a constant flow of sweat from the armpit. Some may also experience a odor from the sweating. Due to the discomfort and the embarrassing nature of this problem, those who have it usually want to find a quick solution.
One of the first places people who suffer from extreme underarm sweat will turn to is their pharmacy. Beside the deodorants, there is usually a supply of antiperspirants. An antiperspirant is designed to reduce the amount of perspiration experienced by the user. The active ingredient in an antiperspirant is called aluminum chloride, however, the concentration available over the counter may not be strong enough to have a positive effect on hyperhidrosis of this nature. Additionally, some people may experience skin irritation from aluminum chloride.
For those that have tried antiperspirants with no effect, there are other ways that can be used to try and control excessive underarm sweat. A more natural solution that is available at most grocery stores is apple cider vinegar. Some people have experienced a reduction in their sweating by applying this to the underarm area on a daily basis.
Additional medical treatments exist as well. Botox (botulinum toxin) was first tested for use as a treatment for excessive sweating in 1993. If you have heard of Botox then you have probably heard about its use in cosmetics to treat wrinkles. As a solution for excessive sweating, it is injected under the skin at the effected site. The toxin prevents the glands from receiving the signals which tell them to produce perspiration.
There are many treatments available for underarm sweat. It's important to note that getting a proper professional diagnosis of the problem is important for a couple of reasons. First, heavy armpit sweating can be more than just a very embarrassing problem but can also be a symptom of something more serious. Second, your doctor can help you decide which treatment will work best for you.
