WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?

Rocket Japanese is a software system for download or as a set of CDs. The system has videos, software, and special audio recordings. In addition, you are given access to a "Learning Lounge" where you can test your skills, and connect with other users and teachers.

HOW WELL DOES IT WORK?

Rocket Japanese is a powerful way to learn Japanese, IF you are sincere and willing to put in time on a regular basis. Ideally, you should attempt to view the material for some time everyday (at least 30 min - 1 hr a day). The lessons are designed to build on one another. Because of this, being consistent is crucial.

Picking up a language is much like learning to ride a bike. For the first 6 or 7 lessons you may think that you aren't getting anywhere. If you keep going, however, you will come to a point where things suddenly "fall into place". You will find yourself making sentences without effort and hearing most of the words in the audio recordings.

Then you can move on to learning more advanced grammer and vocabulary.

IS THIS THE BEST SYSTEM FOR EVERY STUDENT?

Some students find it hard to focus unless there is some outside pressure such as an upcoming "exam" or a teacher checking their "homework".

Rocket Japanese is a do it yourself program. It is very powerful but you must provide the follow-through yourself

If you feel you need the pressure of a class situation in order to follow through, consider classes at a local college. Keep in mind that a class will cost much more and can take longer.
